Member Handbook

Welcome to the IAATO Member Handbook, your guide to the many facets of the Association. Since 1991, IAATO has compiled a wealth of information designed to facilitate its members’ Antarctic operations and objectives, and to assist them in working together to achieve important, mutually beneficial goals through the Association.

How does a member access this information, share in the dialogue and take full advantage of the value and benefits that IAATO has to offer to its members? This Handbook is a good place to begin, and serves as a primer for “everything IAATO.”

For those new to the Association, the Handbook provides interpretation of the Bylaws – the foundation of the organization – explaining procedures and practices that will keep your company in good standing within the Association. More importantly, it will help you find what you’re looking for so that you can stay abreast of critical Antarctic tourism issues, from information about the Annual Meeting to using the website and everything in between.

The Handbook is a dynamic document, so we invite your suggestions and comments on how it can be made more useful or informative. It is also designed to help you become well versed and engaged in the business of the Association. The strength of IAATO, after all, is based on informed members willing to contribute and share, thus advancing the principles of the mission statement: to advocate, promote and practice safe and environmentally responsible private-sector travel to the Antarctic.

Sincerely,

The IAATO Secretariat
