Marine

The Marine Committee is essential for identifying and advising operators on marine-related issues that require attention. This committee serves as a liaison with key maritime organisations, including the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the Hydrographic Commission on Antarctica (HCA), Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), and others as required.

The Marine Committee has two subcommittees: 

Submersibles Subcommittee

The Submersibles Subcommittee provides a forum for IAATO members to share their expertise, opinions and good practices, in support of ensuring submersible operations remain safe and that the underwater environment in Antarctica remains undisturbed by our activities.

Medical Subcommittee

The Medical Subcommittee provides a platform for medical and paramedical staff to share experiences and offer suggestions regarding best practices in remote healthcare during Antarctic expeditions.
