Iain McNeill

Iain brings a broad international background to the IAATO EC, with experience spanning strategy, operations, and expedition travel.

Since joining IAATO Operator Hurtigruten in 2018 as VP Group Strategy, Iain has held senior leadership roles across the expedition cruise sector, including leading HX Expeditions' Antarctic operations as COO from 2020.

Prior to joining the expedition cruise industry, Iain was an engagement manager with McKinsey & Company in London and Oslo, advising international clients across industries on strategy, operational transformation, and organisational performance.

He holds a Master of Chemistry from the University of Oxford and an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was a Fulbright Scholar.

Having lived in eight countries and travelled to more than 80 across all continents, Iain brings a global perspective to the IAATO Executive Committee. An avid mountaineer, paraglider, skier, sailor, and sailing instructor, he is committed to responsible travel and meaningful engagement with remote and natural environments.
